The Adams Street Branch serves the Dorchester neighborhood at 690 Adams Street. Library service here dates to 1875; the present building opened in 1951 and was completely rebuilt and reopened in July 2021 after an $18.3 million reconstruction. It features a reading garden, Spanish and Vietnamese collections, and a community room.
