Argosy Book Store, founded in 1925, is New York City's oldest independent bookstore and is now in its third generation of family ownership. The store occupies an entire six-story townhouse in midtown Manhattan, specializing in Americana, modern first editions, autographs, art, antique maps and prints, and the history of science and medicine. In addition to its retail location, Argosy maintains a large warehouse in Brooklyn and is a founding member of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association of America.
