Face in a Book was an independent general bookstore in the El Dorado Hills Town Center, a neighborhood gathering place for readers of all ages with thousands of titles plus gifts, cards and stationery, children's events and author signings. It won the Mystery Writers of America's Raven Award in 2025 for outstanding achievement in the mystery field outside creative writing. After 14 years the store closed permanently at the end of March 2026.
