Latin Quarter bookshop and publisher of the Présence Africaine house. Founded 1949 by Senegalese intellectual Alioune Diop as a publishing arm of the Présence Africaine review (1947); expanded to a bookshop with the same name. Longtime director Christiane Yandé Diop stewarded the house for decades. Annual closure 1–31 August.
